Protest event against the 75th anniversary of China’s National Day in Amsterdam
75th Anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party’s Usurpation of Power: National Mourning Day Event Plan
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) usurpation of power in China in 1949. To commemorate this tragic event, reveal historical truths, and awaken the public’s desire for freedom and democracy, an activity are planned to mourn this National Mourning Day and emphasize the importance of pursuing freedom, justice, and human rights.
Event Agenda:
Commemoration Ceremony (Silent Mourning Ceremony): All participants held a minute of silence at the same time to mourn tens of millions of people who had died in the political persecution since 1949.
Historical Review and Speeches: Testimonies from political dissidents from mainland China, Tibetans, Uyghurs, survivors of the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre, and participants in the Hong Kong pro-democracy movement, sharing their personal experiences.
Reading out “75 Years of National Tragedy: China under Dictatorship” (Summary). This document details the CCP’s violations of human rights, freedom, and the rule of law since usurping the power.
A press release will be sent to the media after the event. It is hoped that old and new pro-democracy and human rights activists in the Netherlands will participate actively, and that the new generation of pro-democracy and human rights activists abroad will overcome their fears and have the courage to stand in the anti-communist queue.
